 Rishabh Pant Incident: BCCI reported that the left-handed batsman suffered two cuts to his forehead and a torn ligament in his right knee and is currently hospitalized at Max Hospital, Dehradun.



Ever since the news of the horrifying incident of Indian batsman Rishabh Pant broke, everyone has been left in disbelief. Pant was driving his Mercedes car which got into an accident near Roorkee in Uttarakhand. The Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) reported that the left-handed batsman suffered two cuts to his forehead and torn ligaments in his right knee and is currently hospitalized at Max Hospital in Dehradun. Players pray for the speedy recovery of the Delhi cricketer. Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli also took to Twitter and expressed his wishes.

Pant fell asleep while driving, causing the accident, and had to break the car's windshield to escape after the vehicle caught fire. Uttarakhand Police Director General Ashok Kumar confirmed that the cricketer was alone in the car at the time of the incident and broke the windshield to escape the vehicle after it caught fire.


“Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant's car crashed at around 5:30am. The accident took place at Mohammedpur Jat, near Roorkee. According to Pant, he fell asleep while driving and, as a result, the car collided with the partition and was trapped. He was transferred to Roorkee hospital from where he has now been transferred to Dehradun,” DGP Ashok Kumar told the media.


Pant was part of the Indian team that won the Test series against Bangladesh 2-0 earlier this month. He had impressed with shots of 46 and 93.

He was recently left out of the announced T20I squad for the series against Sri Lanka and was due to join the National Cricket Academy for the strength and conditioning program ahead of February's Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia.


Pant has been India's regular wicketkeeper in all formats since MS Dhoni's retirement and has been one of India's best bat-players in Test cricket for the past few years.
